About the event

Join us for a meaningful and engaging day at the Walk and Talk fundraising event in London. This unique event combines the benefits of physical activity with insightful discussions on women’s health, all while supporting a great cause.

Event Highlights:

  • Guided Walk: Enjoy a scenic walk along the longest linear nature reserve in London - The Parkland Walk (https://www.parkland-walk.org.uk/). At 4km in length, it follows the former railway line connecting Finsbury Park to Alexandra Palace that opened in 1873. Take time to breathe in the fresh air and stunning views. The walk is suitable for all fitness levels and provides a wonderful opportunity to get moving while connecting with others.
  • Engaging conversations: Join in with engaging conversations about women's health around questions such as "What does healthy mean? What are our blockers? How do we achieve / maintain it as a lifestyle?"
  • Community Engagement: Connect with other participants who share a commitment to promoting and supporting women's health. Share experiences, exchange ideas, and build supportive networks.
  • Fundraising for a Cause: All proceeds from the event will go to the Janette Wong Community C.I.C., dedicated to empowering women in support of vulnerable women and children. Your participation helps make a difference in the lives of women and communities. (see below for more details)

You are welcome to come alone, or with friends - the more the merrier! Throughout the walk we will be facilitating conversations so you will have many chances to meet other like-minded women!

How long is the walk?

The walk is approximately 4km long, which (according to Google) will take approximately 1.5-2 hours)

However, we will be going at a slow, leisurely pace to enable conversation flow and drink stops if needed, so please allow for at least 3 hours for the whole event.

There are restaurants/cafes at the end of the walk so feel free to join us for some food/drink afterwards!

What will the money from the ticket sales be used for?

The Janette Wong Community (JWC) is on a mission to raise funds for an event dedicated to helping out small and medium-sized charities that support vulnerable women and children. This event will provide these organisations with the opportunity to network, create synergies, and learn best practices for operating their charities like successful businesses.

JWC understands that smaller charities often lack the funding and resources to afford courses, hire agencies, or employ staff to gain the essential knowledge needed for effective operation. Our goal is to host a free, day-long event where these charities and non-profits can learn from industry experts and acquire the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions about their future growth and success.

All proceeds from this event will go directly towards funding this initiative. By purchasing a ticket, you will be making a significant impact in supporting these charities and empowering them to thrive! 💖
