How do I register with JWC?If you would like to register for a workshop run by our volunteers, please click on the link for that workshop. If you would like support in other areas that's not currently offered, then please fill in the form and give us a brief description of the requirement

What type of volunteering opportunities are there? We offer 2 types of volunteering opportunities - general volunteering and skills based. General volunteering is where you'd offer your time doing generic tasks as and when needed - e.g. registration at events, support with fundraising. Skills based volunteering is where you offer to use your professional skills pro bono - e.g if you're a business coach, you could offer consultancy time, if you're a marketer, you can offer to support on creating marketing strategy.
-
I'm not sure what I can offer - what can I do?Sometimes the volunteering world can be a bit of a minefield! Don't worry we've got you covered. 😊 If you just register your interest with your job title (e.g. coach, lawyer) and/or passion (e.g. salsa dancing) then someone from the team will reach out to you and arrange a call for a chat about suitable opportunities.
-
How do I choose which charity is right for me?This is a something very personal and it differs for everyone as it depends on what makes you "tick". To help with your thinking, you can consider one of the 2 criteria: Is this charity supporting a cause that you're passionate about? If you're passionate about the cause, you're more likely going to enjoy it. 😊 Is this opportunity something that I can do (e.g. if you're a finance person with no marketing knowledge/understanding/background, then the opportunity is most likely not for you)
-
I don't have much time - can I still volunteer?Absolutely! We have opportunities where we're looking for women to join short term projects, or even offer one off support. Just let us know in advance how much time you're able to commit, then we'll make sure we reach an agreement with the charity before you begin work
-
Can I say no to opportunities?Absolutely! There is no obligation for you to say "yes" to any opportunities which we present to you. All we'd ask is that you do consider carefully before you commit because otherwise it becomes difficult / more time consuming to find someone else to pick up your work once you've started.

What if I don't like the charity I'm volunteering for?All of the charities that we work with are lovely (we do vet them!) but if there is the unlikely situation where you really do not enjoy your volunteering with a specific charity, then please do get in touch with us and we'll raise it with the charity directly. If the situation does not improve, then you can leave the opportunity - all we'd ask of you is to ensure a detailed handover is given prior to your departure.
